Shipping & Delivery

This page explains how My Cockatoo Bird delivers your bird. Because we ship living animals, the welfare of the cockatoo comes first at every step, and some details depend on your location – so please read this alongside your order confirmation and reach out with any questions.

Where we deliver

We arrange delivery of our cockatoos to customers across the United States. If you are outside our usual delivery area, contact us first at clientservice@cockatoobreeder.com so we can confirm whether we can safely reach you.

How we ship a live bird

  • Every cockatoo is health-checked and confirmed fit to travel before it leaves us.
  • Birds are transported in appropriate, secure, climate-appropriate carriers designed for live animals.
  • We ship only when weather conditions are safe at both ends of the journey; extreme heat or cold may delay a delivery, and we will always choose the bird’s safety over speed.
  • You will receive tracking or scheduling details so you know when to expect your cockatoo.
  • An adult must be available to receive the bird and check it on arrival.

Delivery times and costs

Delivery cost depends on your location and the species, and is confirmed with you before your bird ships – it is not a flat rate. We will give you the delivery timeframe when we arrange your shipment. Weather holds and carrier delays can occasionally move a date; if that happens, we will keep you informed.

On arrival

Please inspect your cockatoo as soon as it arrives. If anything looks wrong, contact us within 24 hours (see our refund and returns policy for how our health guarantee works). For everything involved in settling a new bird in, see our cockatoo care guide.
